Detailed Horse Information:

Latest Update | 13th July 2026
He is coming along well with trainer, Jack Pilkington. Had a soft jumpout on the poly track. He had a nice easy experience. Looking to have a proper jumpout at Hawkesbury on the grass on the 22nd July and all going well from there he should head to a trial a fortnight from there.

AN EYE-CATCHING INDIVIDUAL WITH STRENGTH, MOVEMENT AND ATTITUDE. READY TO TRIAL.

A sharp, well-made colt by Tassort, one of Australia’s most exciting young sires, already making an impression with his early runners. This colt is compact, balanced, and forward, with good bone, a strong shoulder, and a fluent, ground-covering walk that suggests natural athleticism.

Out of Resident, a mare from a tough, running family, this colt combines physical strength with a pedigree built on performance and durability. He presents with maturity and carries himself with confidence, showing the early signs of a colt that will handle a professional environment with ease.

The signs are all there that he’s a genuine racing type with the build and pedigree to develop into a competitive, speed colt.

Sire

TASSORT

Tassort is rapidly emerging as one of Australia’s most exciting young stallions. While he raced only twice, his brilliance was undeniable, and his early stud results suggest he is transmitting genuine class.

With a Group 1 winner already on his résumé and several stakes performers from his first crops, he is developing a reputation as a sire of fast, athletic, early-running horses with commercial appeal.

His first crops have produced:

  • 🏆 Manaal – Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes winner
  • 🏆 Ameena – Group 2 Silver Slipper winner
  • 🏆 Agrarian Girl – Listed Lonhro Plate winner
  • 🏆 Miss Freelove – Listed Denise’s Joy Stakes winner

He finished runner-up to Too Darn Hot in the Champion First Season Sire standings, an outstanding achievement considering his modest service fee and relatively limited opportunities

Dam

RESIDENT is a young daughter of Champion Australian sire Dissident from the Stakes winning Fastnet Rock mare ROCK ROBSTER , placing her in one of Australasia’s deepest black-type families.

While lightly raced herself, Resident boasts a pedigree stacked with elite performers including ROYAL DESCENT (Gr.1 winner), ALBANY REUNION (Gr.1 winner), FAST DRAGON (Gr.1 placed), PALACE ROCK, GIANNIS, DANCE TO THE BOOM, VEZELAY and numerous other Stakes winners.

Her granddam, Chinese Whispers, has produced eight winners, while the family has consistently generated high-class racehorses over multiple generations.

With this her third foal, Resident offers enormous upside as a broodmare, and this colt combines an exciting young female family with proven black-type depth and genuine commercial appeal.

Trainer

JACK PILKINGTON

Jack Pilkington is one of Australia’s most promising young thoroughbred trainers, bringing a truly international perspective to his Hawkesbury-based stable in New South Wales.

Originally from Ireland, Pilkington began his racing journey with ambitions of becoming a jockey before turning his focus to training, travelling the world to learn from some of the industry’s leading horsemen.

His career has included valuable experience with renowned operations such as Chris Waller, Mark Newnham, the Hayes family, and Charlie Hills in England, giving him a broad understanding of elite training methods across multiple racing jurisdictions.

Launching his own stable at Hawkesbury in 2022, Pilkington has quickly earned a reputation as a meticulous horseman with exceptional attention to detail and a patient, horse-first approach.

His stable enjoyed an immediate boost through the talented Alabama State, his first winner as a trainer, who has gone on to perform strongly in metropolitan company and helped establish Pilkington as one of the state’s rising young trainers.

Known for his professionalism, communication and progressive training philosophy, Jack Pilkington is building a stable focused on quality rather than quantity.

His willingness to combine traditional horsemanship with modern training techniques, together with his extensive international experience, has seen him attract increasing support from owners seeking a young trainer with ambition, integrity and the drive to compete at the highest level.
