Latest Update

29th Oct 2024 UPDATE

We’re very pleased with her. She has just commenced pre-training at Hawesbury before she will return to Gai and Adrian’s. The video below shows her on parade at our recent Open Day. What a lovely cut of a filly!

NOTE: This filly’s Dam, a multiple City winner is a half sister to dual Gr3 winner, Invincible Star. She herself has a colt by Justify purchased by Gai and Adrian which went through the ring for $1.3m and a Filly by So You Think on the ground. That’s enough inside info to know you are most likely to have a free shy at the stumps to see what she can do as a racehorse and it’s only upside from there!

Information

A superb filly with to Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott. She is by Capitalist who is doing just as well at stud as he did on the track. He currently sits 8th on the Sires Table above stallions such as Written Tycoon, Dundeel and All Too Hard. KAIZAD another son of Capitalist, which we purchased and syndicated, is a 3yo with a very bright future. He won the Gr3 Carbine Club Stakes on Derby Day. This filly is bred to fly. She is out of a half-sister to the speed machine Invincible Star, also trained by Gai and Adrian.

Likely to get up and go as a juvenile and no doubt will be giving a very good sight in front when she races. She is an outstanding individual, plenty of size and scope. Plenty of quality and strength about her. Capitalist keeps going from strength to strength. Gai and Adrian are going enormous with there 2yo’s this year. Buy your share NOW in this outstanding filly!!

She passed her scope, x-rays and clinical examination and was rated as low risk.

Trainer Comments (Adrian Bott): A beautiful Capitalist Filly that we are delighted to train in partnership with Gai Waterhouse on behalf of Blueblood Thoroughbreds, as you can see, she is a lovely big Capitalist Filly from the family of INVINCIBLE STAR, one of the fastest filly’s we had through the stables in recent times. You can see a nice precocious individual, plenty of size and strength about her and see her up and going early and targeting those early 2yo races. Delighted to have a quality of this filly in the stable.

Sire

CAPITALIST  4 wins at 2. Champion 2yo colt in Australia 2015-216. The highest earner of two-year-old prizemoney ever over $3.5 million. Winner of the Sire Making Group 1 Golden Slipper. The first colt to ever win the Breeders’ Plate, Magic Millions and Golden Slipper. Sire of the 2021 Millennium with Profiteer

“Capitalist was the best two-year-old I’ve ever ridden, in the Breeders’ Plate it was like driving a Rolls-Royce. He was breathtaking in the Magic Millions and outstanding against a top-class field in the Golden Slipper.” – Jockey Blake Shinn

“Capitalist was just the perfect two-year-old, blessed with a huge amount of precocity, and ability.”- Co-Trainer Peter Snowden

Capitalist was officially retired to stud at Newgate Farm in November 2016, having chipped a fetlock in training. Manager there, Henry Field, said, “Australia is all about two-year-old racing, and to have a champion two-year-old standing at Newgate is what everyone strives for. Capitalist is the embodiment of what works in Australia – he will be heavily supported by his group of owners.”

Dam

KANSINO, by Zoffany (Ire) 3 wins at 1620, $141,738 won in prize money, MRC Quayclean H Ladbrokes Easy Form. Half-sister to INVINCIBLE STAR also trained by Gai and Adrian. This is her first foal.

Trainer

Gai & Adrian have gone on to achieve as much as humanly possible with racehorses. While many would rest on their laurels after such success, Gai simply wants to win more and more. Owners can rest assured that the Lady Trainer wants to win races just as much if not more than they do! Confirmation of this dedication to excellence came after just fifteen years of training when Gai was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame (2007). As we stand, in just over 20 years of training, Gai has amassed over 135 Group One wins and currently sits third on the all-time list (Group One winners) behind T.J. Smith and Bart Cummings.

By far Gai’s greatest achievements have been recorded in the best races of the year in both Melbourne and Sydney. Gai has won Sydney’s two best races, the Golden Slipper and Doncaster Handicap seven times respectively. Gai is by far the most successful trainer ever in the Sydney Spring. ‘Make hay while the sun shines’ is a phrase one often can hear Gai quoting. This attitude is reflected by Gai’s results in the best races contested during the Sydney Spring Carnival. The Flight Stakes (7 wins), the Epsom Handicap (7 wins) and the Metropolitan Handicap (8 wins) have become races at the mercy of Gai each and every year.

Gai & Adrian give each and every horse that comes into their care every possible chance to succeed. Only six horses in the history of Sydney racing have won the two-year-old Triple Crown and Gai has trained two of them (Dance Hero 2004 and Pierro 2012). Gai in fact has won more Group One races for two-year-olds than any other trainer.

Gai Waterhouse along with Adrian Bott, has had 2293 winners to date with a great career strike rate of 19.4% including 158 Group 1 winners and 7 Golden Slippers. In the past decade, the pair have made more than $181 million in prizemoney.
