Our girl, GOLD MEDALIST scored an incredible victory at Echuca today at her first race start.
The daughter of Pierata was a long way out of contention before the turn however, when in-form apprentice Emily Pozman brought her to the outside after the field turned for hom she started to chase hard.
At the 150m mark it looked as though a placing was up for grabs and that would have been ok but boy oh boy did she sprout wings over the concluding stages.
She gave the leaders windburn near the line so fast was she finishing the official margin was 0.4L.
Gold Medalist was a brilliant value purchase from the Inglis HTBA Sale. She hails from one of the best families in racing – the fames Shanthas Choice family… Redoutes Choice, Manhattan Rain, Rubick, Echoes Of Heaven, Sliding Cube even Shoals are close up in her pedigree.
The term “residual value” is bandied around in sales pitches often… well, that win today has made her a very valuable commodity for her patient owners!
She had taken time to mature and the wait has paid off.
What a great job Peter Moody and Kat Coleman have done to get this result with her.
Congratulations to all involved.
Pierata just keeps producing winner after winner. We have a small availability in another quality filly by the Gr1 winner. She is trained by Tony Gollan and will be the source of fun and success if her looks are anything to go by.
