Latest Update

10th April 2025

A TOUGH, POWERFUL & HANDSOME COLT BY A VERY SPEEDY MULTIPLE STAKES PERFORMED SON OF EXTREME CHOICE – AND LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE HIM.

Another very satisfying procurement from the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale is this precocious and well-bred son of the explosive, EXTREME WARRIOR – the Highest Rated 3yo son of freakish young sire, EXTREME CHOICE.

Now with Extreme Choice standing for a whopping $330,000 what better way to take advantage of his class without the hefty price tag! This colt though not particularly cheap, looks like he will be worth every cent. .

He is a well grown colt with good muscle and bone making up a solid yet athletic frame. It’s uncanny he is the spitting image of his Sire. even down to the exact same markings!

Hailing from a quality speed family, his page is choc-o-bloc with Black Type which includes the mighty 4 x Gr.1 winner, ALINGHI. This gives you an indication of the class about him.

We purchased him in conjunction with Lloyd Kennewell who has kept 30% and are thrilled to announce this will be out first horse to be trained by him and co-trainer Lucy Yeomans..

Sire

EXTREME WARRIOR A precocious, multiple stakes performer as an early 2yo, it was however at 3, in a competitive Group 3 Blue Sapphire Stakes at Caulfield, that EXTREME WARRIOR emphatically laid claim to his Group One talent. A last 400m blitz which race-caller Matt Hill described as a ‘wow performance’…. ‘Extreme Warrior runs straight past Profiteer…this is going to be a demolition!’

  • At 2YO: 2d MRC Debutant S., L (1000m to Fake Love and beating Naples), Blue Diamond Preview (c&g), L (1000m to General Beau and beating Thunder Star)
  • At 3YO: MRC Blue Sapphire S., Gr.3 (1200m beating Profiteer and Minsk Moment), Bel Esprit S., L (1100m beating It’sourtime and Curran), Tatura RC Hygain Maiden P. (1100m)

‘A special colt with a unique ability to quicken off a fast tempo. We trained Extreme Choice and this colt has all the hallmarks of his now superstar sire.” – Mick Price

‘He’s certainly an impressive colt with brilliant speed and from a seriously sharp sireline. We’re excited to partner into a horse like this with Rosemont’ – David Redvers – Racing & Breeding Manager, Qatar Bloodstock.

Dam

DEVOUT HERO A winner at 1200m, DEVOUT HERO is a daughter of Stakes performer, PERFECT PERSUASION who is a full sister to 4 x Group One winner, Champion 3YO Filly in Australia, ALINGHI and closely related to ill-fated Sire, BENETEAU.

DEVOUT HERO is a half sister to LADY SHARAPOVA, PERFECT PROPOSAL AND PAPILLION. This colt is her first foal.

Trainer

LLOYD KENNEWELL

After completing his tertiary education at Pulteney Grammar in 2000, there was little doubt about the career that Lloyd Kennewell would pursue. He’d grown up around racehorses at his father Gary’s stables and was an odds-on favourite to follow his dad into the racing game.

Having seen firsthand the growing level of professionalism needed to run a city stable, Lloyd embarked on a Business Management Course at TAFE SA and completed his studies with great commendation from his tutors which set him in great stead to run his own business.

In late 2003 Lloyd applied for his training licence and made history as the youngest recipient of a licence in South Australia at age 21. He trained his first winner soon after when Treasure Time scored at Cheltenham in February 2004.

After enjoying great success training out of Adelaide, including noteworthy wins in the 2017 Group One Winterbottom Stakes in Perth and the 2012 Group Two Adelaide Cup, Lloyd made the bold move to Melbourne in 2018 and set up his new full time base at Caulfield and just weeks after arriving the stable cemented their spot in the state with a Group One win in the 2018 Moir Stakes with Viddora.

One that has never been afraid of a challenge or to travel his horses whether it be in Australia or overseas, Lloyd decided to take on the world and Viddora raced on the biggest stage at the Dubai World Cup meeting in 2019, finishing fourth in the Group One Al Quoz Sprint. The star mare then raced in Hong Kong before being retired to stud.

Prominent at all major sales both in Australia and overseas and with an eye for a yearling, a terrific winning record, and knowledge beyond his years, the future is bright for Lloyd Kennewell.

LUCY YEOMANS

Lucy has been in horse racing for over a decade and is regarded by most as one of the best horse women in the country. Her attention detail has seen her look after some of the best and most successful horse flesh in the nation and this was all whilst under the tuition of Ciaron Maher.

It’s very exciting to have Lucy joining us in partnership and we are really looking forward to what the future holds for our ever-growing business.
