Dam: Tina Turban
Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr
COMPLETED A FULL PREPARATION AT MICK PRICE & MICHAEL KENT JNR CAULFIELD STABLE
A striking chestnut Sebring colt that was thought of highly by Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr at the sales. He was also rated highly by our Racing Manager, David Mourad and well-regarded bloodstock agent Sheamus Mills.
Mick Price (trainers) comments: From Melbourne Premier a lovely Sebring colt. Big strong just like his Dad was. He is a forward horse as I know these guy on the farm. He works and eats, works and eats. Good trainers horse and a perfect owners horse. I think he is going to race on through his 2yo year and into his 3yo year. Just like the pedigree suggests, he is going to be a beautiful tough racehorse.
Sheamus Mills (Bloodstock Agent) comments: You know how good Sebring has been over the years. He has been a good producer, this is your last chance to get involved with a Sebring being his last crop. All you have to do is remember Criterion, Dissident to remember how good he was. A lovely colt.
David Mourad (BBT Racing Manager) comments: Sebring colt out of the well named Tina Turban. A typical Sebring colt, he is just going to keep on improving. We have had a lot of luck with the progeny Sedanzer was a Group 2 Brisbane Cup winner. He will go to Mick Price who we have had plenty of success with over the years. I really like this horse, he has a lot of scope and is really going to grow and develop. I can see him running a mile plus up to 2000 metres like a lot of the Sebrings’ do. He might make some sort of a 2yo and train on..
This colt is currently spelling at Cavallo Park after completing full work with Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr at their Caufield stables.
Our colt has passed 100% clean on her scope, x-ray and clinical examination.
The ill-fated SEBRING a 5-time winner. He enjoyed great success as a two-year-old, including Group One Golden Slipper and Sires Produce stakes with prize earnings of over $2.5 million.
An argument can be made that Sebring is the best ‘all-round’ stallion in Australia. His progeny have won races from distances between 850m to 2400m on all manner of racetracks. In fact on the Geelong synthetic track, Sebring has a 25% strike rate. This might not sound like much, but it is a fascinating (and remarkable) stat and a good indication of this stallion’s versatility.
Sebring has had 45 stakes winners including our own Group 2 Brisbane Cup winner Sedanzer.
Dam: TINA TURBAN
TINA TURBAN by HELMET. She was a winner of 2 races and this is her first foal. She is the daughter of Simply the Best a winner of 3 races including at Listed level. She is also the half-sister to group performer and 4-time winner Simply Put.

Mick Price gained his license in 1991 and while he enjoyed some early success the big move came in 1996 when he moved into stables at Caulfield that Lee Freedman had previously operated from. The move to Caulfield saw Price move from a bit part to a big player in the Victorian training ranks. He is now firmly established in the top echelon of trainers not only in Victoria but Australia.
Mick Price has prepared more than 100 winners a season for the past 10 seasons, a position that puts him in rare company. He has enjoyed abundance of success with 36 Group 1 wins and more than 2000 career wins.
Mick Price has a fantastic record with two-year-olds and has produced a number of stallions including Extreme Choice and Flying Artie which both have started stud duties in the 2017 season.
