Sire: Star Turn
Trainer: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr
Star Turn filly was purchased from the highly regarded Vinery Stud. She was certainly great buying. A filly that we just had to have and thought of highly by Mick Price. She was also rated highly by well renowned bloodstock agent, Sheamus Mills and our Racing Manager, David Mourad.
Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr (trainers) comments: Lot 255 from the Inglis Classic sales. A chestnut filly from Star Turn. She is a nice little filly. Furthermore she does have about her is a beautiful deep girth on her. She is not overly big and going to take a bit of time. She is probably going to bone up a bit, she is an October 7th foal. I think if you want an inexpensive filly that’s bred to go fast. I also think this is the right sought of filly.
General Nediym is sitting in the second dam, which is always good. It’s a good family, it just needs a bit of a spark up. So I think if your looking for a nice cheap filly and an introduction to racing, I think she will be ideal. She is going to grow bigger and stronger as she gets older and I think she is a very nice type.
Sheamus Mills (Bloodstock Agent) comments: Star Turn has really got away to a good start, already has Hipstar as a stakes winner. He also gets big strong imposing type horses that are going to train on as 3yo’s which is a reason why they are bought at really good value. He is a stallion that I have been following, I think this filly was great buying at that price.
David Mourad (BBT Racing Manager) comments: I thought she was an actual seal, half the price, she is a lovely filly. I really like the Star Turns. We’ve got one in our stable called Star Magic who is going well and will be off to the races very soon, if she has not already by the time you have heard this. Bought from Vinery Stud, they are one of the biggest stud farms in Australia and they produce plenty of winners. So she has had a great start to life.
She is a very neat filly. I think she is going to make some sort of a 2yo. Furthermore I do not think it is going to take her forever to mature and develop. Just like Star Turn is doing a good job with his 2yo’s already. Lastly inexpensive, this is one you can get in at a good price and go and have a little bit of fun.
This filly has a strong pedigree being a close descendant to 12 individual stakes winners.
Our Star Turn filly has passed 100% clean on her scope, x-ray and clinical examination. ‘
Sire: STAR TURN
STAR TURN by STAR WITNESS 3 wins 1 at 2. Star Turn was a Powerhouse Sprinter and the ONLY 3yo colt of his generation who measured up to weight-for-age (WFA) Gr.1 racing in the Autumn.
He wasn’t just a phenomenal 3yo! In a stellar crop of colts, Star Turn drew first blood as a Spring 2yo in the Pierro Plate at Randwick before a 2nd to Flying Artie in the Blue Diamond Prelude in the Autumn. His only unplaced runs in a 12 start career were 5th and 6th in Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper respectively.
It’s not surprising that he was a pre-Christmas juvenile winner given his precocious pedigree. He is by Gr.1 Blue Diamond-winning Star Witness, who won 3 of his 4 2yo starts and is from 5-time Stakes winning sprinter Golden Delicious.
SKYANN by SMART MISSILE Unraced. This is her first foal.
She hails from a strong pedigree with General Nediym, Pins and Danehill all prominent in her bloodlines.
