Latest Update | 19th March 2026

**IT’S A PROISIR AND IT’S A FILLY!!! THE CHAMPION NZ SIRE CERTAINLY KNOWS HOW TO PRODUCE A CLASSY FEMALE!!!**

The Proisir filly is currently at Matt Vella’s stables in the Hawkesbury today, ready to commence being broken in.

This of course will be her first preparation towards her career ahead of becoming a racehorse. She is in outstanding hands with Matt who has broken in numerous Group 1 winners, including several Golden Slipper winners. Matt is one of the best in the business and the finished product is a well-mannered and well-educated young horse.

The process of breaking in a horse is to teach them how to wear a saddle and gear, be mouthed up, be ridden and to adapt to the rider’s instructions. The filly will also be introduced to the barriers so she can familiarise herself with that important aspect of going to the races.

This new start to racing life can sometimes be a little stressful for a young horse but she is in good hands with Matt who will always put the filly’s well-being first.

The breaking in process usually takes around 3 or 4 weeks to complete, and we will continue to update you on her progress each fortnight.

An It’s no secret that Proisir produces elite females compared to his male progeny… think LEGARTO, PROWESS, LEVANTE, COEUR VOLANTE etc.

This girl is a gorgeous type and is from a winning Kingman mare, HAIL TO THE QUEEN with that prolific Dubawi blood in her.

Speaking of The Queen… she will be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.
