Watch a video below of him going through his paces while being broken-in.

Information

Join this racing syndicate in a cracking colt by 3YO champion FLYING ARTIE, to be trained by Ciaron Maher. He has wowed our team with his excellent movement.

He is the first foal from a winning mare who hails from a lovely family. This colt’s pedigree is littered with black type performers, including Group 1 Golden Slipper winner BINT MARSCAY and Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner BOLLINGER. He is bred on the exact same cross as ARTORIUS.

This colt has a fantastic, even temperament. He is a hard working natured horse which has been excellent for the farm staff  who have described him as very good to handle. He is a very strong and well balanced colt. He is not overly large, but he is certainly not small. He has a beautiful shoulder, a great depth of girth and he will definitely remain strong throughout his early career. He has not shown any signs of being colty, and gets along well with his paddock mates.

Ciaron Maher Racing will add their polish to this colt out of their world class facilities and as a result, they will give him the best chance to succeed at the track.

Our colt passed 100% his clinical examination and was rated suitable for syndication.

Sire

FLYING ARTIE by ARTIE SCHILLER Was the world champion 3YO sprinter of his generation winning the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes. Flying Artie won the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude and had a tremendous run in the Group 1 Blue Diamond running 2nd to Extreme Choice. He ran 3rd in the Group 1 Golden Slipper losing to Capitalist.

He commenced stud duties in 2017 and his progeny have earned over $14Million in stakes earnings including 12 stakes winners, 7 at Group level. His progeny include dual Group 1 winner Artorius. Other notable stakes winners and performers include Giannis, The Art Of Flying, Asfoora and Princess Bojack.

Dam

This colt’s dam PARTY LADY was a winner at 1100m. This is her first foal.

Party Lady is by REDOUTE’S CHOICE. She is closely related to Group 1 Golden Slipper winner, BINT MARSCAY and Group 1 Coolmore Classic winner, BOLLINGER.

Party Lady is out of Champaign Run who has produced 5 foals to race, all of which are winners. This includes black type performers FLYING EVELYN and CRISTAL EYES.

Trainer

Ciaron Maher took his first tentative steps in racing as a teenager, working with a trainer after school each day. He was an apprentice jockey with Peter Hayes in Adelaide and Melbourne before becoming an accomplished jumps jockey, competing in Australia versus Ireland jockey challenges and riding in England, Ireland and Dubai.

In 2005 he established himself as a trainer in Warrnambool, home of jumps racing. His first winner was Spectacular Storm in a hurdle race at Terang, followed up smartly by another win at Sandown. The stage was set for a successful career not only in jumps racing, but also on the flat as the stable grew. Ciaron Maher has since moved to Caulfield, where he has expansive stables on the course. He has retained facilities in Warrnambool, which suit horses in need of a country setting, and has secured new premises at Randwick. At his property in Pakenham, on the edge of Melbourne’s suburbs, he has agistment and pre-training facilities.

A young trainer with an eye for picking winning prospects at yearling sales, he has built a stable of loyal owners as well as successful horses. He welcomes first-time owners as well as experienced racing hands. He is regarded as hard-working, thoughtful and, above all, patient. His promise is that every horse will be given every chance to develop its full potential.

Ciaron Maher discovered the thrill of Group 1 success in 2007 with TEARS I CRY winning the VRC Emirates stakes at Flemington.

Black type races have flowed since then, SRIKANDI winning the Group 1 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap and the Group 1 Sky Racing Tatts Club Tiara, SET SQUARE winning the Group 1 Crown Oaks, and the following year, JAMEKA winning the Group 1 Crown Oaks including the Group 1 BMW Stakes and the Group 1 Caulfield Cup not forgetting LOVING GABY (by I Am Invincible) winning the Group 1 William Reid Stakes in 2020.
