Latest Update

29th May 2025

This colt has been broken in and has done a great job with breaker, Matt Vella. He picked up his education quite easily and Matt was impressed with him.

He has since been turned out to the paddock for a well-deserved break. We are happy with his progress to date. He will have 4 weeks in the paddock to have a think about what he has learned and next time around we will ask him for a bit more.

AN INEXPENSIVE OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH GAI AND ADRIAN WHO SHOULD BE AN EARLY RUNNING 2YO

We recently purchased a wonderful colt by Freshman sire, Wild Ruler (Snitzel) at the Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale. Not only is he a lovely cut of a horse, but he was also so cheap – below his service fee, in fact!

He will be trained by Gai and Adrian and to think you could be racing with them for $1,295 per 2.5% share is exciting in itself.

A beautiful moving colt, he is what we look for in a sharp sprinting type who should be an early running 2yo. Powerful behind and in front, short coupled and a nice deep girth.

A well related colt, he also has the added bonus of a regal head on his shoulders so should we be able to keep him intact and he can win the right races, that will just be the icing on the cake for Stallion appeal.

Trainer

Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott have been in partnership since 2016. They have been a dominating force in the Australian thoroughbred industry ever since.

The story of Tulloch Lodge began in 1941 when TJ Smith, Gai’s father, received his training licence. During the next fifty years, Tulloch Lodge produced some of the best horses ever to run in Australia, including the legendary Kingston Town and Tulloch.

TJ became the most successful trainer of Group 1 winners in Australia, training a record 282 winners at the highest level, and receiving 33 consecutive trainers’ premierships. In 1992, TJ handed the reins to his daughter Gai, who has become a racing sensation in her own right and has steered Tulloch Lodge to new heights in the 21st century.

Following in her father’s footsteps, Gai has trained 160 Group 1 winners, including eight Golden Slippers. To date, Gai & Adrian have collectively trained 26 Group 1 winners.
