The training partnership between Annabel and Rob Archibald emerged at the beginning of the 2024–25 Australian racing season, marking both a professional and personal milestone. Formerly known as Annabel Neasham, Annabel formally adopted her husband Rob’s surname following their marriage, transforming their already successful operation into a truly family-led enterprise. This union has not only deepened the personal connection behind the stable but has also brought a fresh dimension of leadership and cohesion to one of the most progressive and high-achieving training businesses in Australian racing.
Annabel’s rise in the industry has been nothing short of meteoric. Originally from the United Kingdom, she launched her own stable in 2020 and swiftly established herself as a major force. Within just a few seasons, she recorded over 450 winners, including more than 10 at Group 1 level, and earned a reputation as one of the most talented young trainers in the country. Her success stories include elite performers such as Zaaki, the multiple Group 1 winner and a standout in both Sydney and Melbourne carnivals, as well as Mo’unga, Lady Laguna, Sunshine In Paris, Fawkner Park, and Bois D’Argent. With training bases now established at Warwick Farm in New South Wales, Pakenham in Victoria, and Eagle Farm in Queensland, Annabel’s stable boasts a formidable national footprint, allowing her to campaign horses effectively across all major jurisdictions.
Rob Archibald complements this operation with a deep and diverse equine background. A former professional polo player, he has worked internationally within the thoroughbred industry, including with top trainers in the UK and in a senior role as Racing Manager at Coolmore Australia. His extensive knowledge of horse management, form, and the commercial side of racing brought him to Neasham Racing in 2022 as Racing Manager, laying the groundwork for the formal training partnership that would follow. Rob’s strategic vision and operational leadership now play a central role in guiding the stable’s long-term success.
Together, Annabel and Rob form a dynamic and highly effective team. Their complementary strengths — Annabel’s horsemanship and tactical instincts paired with Rob’s business acumen and international experience — have created a stable environment grounded in both excellence and trust. Their partnership allows for shared leadership across a growing three-state operation, streamlined decision-making, and a unified culture that reflects their personal values and professional aspirations.
Looking ahead, the Archibald stable is well-positioned to build on its stellar foundation. With headline horses such as Lady Laguna, Sunshine In Paris, and the rising star Amelia’s Jewel continuing to perform at the top level, the team’s ambitions remain firmly set on further Group 1 success. Their joint mission is clear: to establish one of Australasia’s leading racing stables, delivering elite training, exceptional owner experiences, and an environment where horses are developed to reach their fullest potential.
