A visit to Wangaratta

Good Morning Carol, Just thought I would take this opportunity to tell you about my visit to John Ledger’s Stable last week. I was up in Yarrawonga for the week and last Wednesday rang John as arranged and organised a visit to the Wangaratta Stable. John was very accommodating. He took a couple of hours out of his busy day to show us around the complex and introduced us to his twin boys Chris and Brad. It was really interesting to have the Breaking In process explained to us, particularly to my 3 mates who had never been to a Stable before and knew little about the racing game.
It was also interesting to talk to John about his start in racing with his move to Wangaratta from Yarrawonga, the development of his Racing Stables, his future plans for the growth of his operation with Mick Price and the Wangaratta Racetrack in general… All in all Carol it was a really good morning and we were really pleased we took the drive. On the way back we called into Adrian Park with Brad and had a look at Berlutti and the Negotiate Filly and also thought we could see the Wanted Filly from a distance but wasn’t sure it was her. Adrian Park is a great agistment… all the horses are really secure and really cared for and I can see why a top trainer like Mick Price would send his horses there. Berlutti is looking great and getting bigger.. can’t wait to see him back at Caulfield and in racing. That’s about all for now Carol… I hope you enjoyed this report. Cheers,

Hi Carol, How is this for a pointer to success. I think I told you about buying this share (True Kisses) on my 57th Wedding Anniversary. I met my wife in Newcastle when on my way from Woomera to Williamtown Air Base to go with 78 Fighter Wing to Butterworth Malaya. She was an Air Hostess with McRobertson Miller Airlines in Perth on a working holiday while visiting her Aunt. On visiting an Xray place with 35 other Air Force guys I winked at the receptionist and she winked back (she still denies this). Two weeks later we were
engaged and were married in Perth on 19th December 1958. Everybody said it would never work and they were right, as she is still trying to change me. Now cop this situation. On True Kisses’ right shoulder is my birth year 33 and on the left Shoulder is my wife,s initials DP Doreen Phylis. Regards
