Blueblood Thoroughbreds appoints Sharon Lawrence as National Operations Manager
Blueblood Thoroughbreds is proud to announce the appointment of Sharon Lawrence as National Operations Manager, a newly created role reflecting the rapid expansion of our thoroughbred syndication company.
With over 28 years of experience in the horse racing industry, Sharon has been a trailblazer in syndication, earning her own AFS (Australian Financial Services) license in 1995. Her extensive expertise spans syndication management, marketing, business development, and financial consulting, making her a valuable addition to the Blueblood Thoroughbreds team.
Starting out in Rouse Hill, NSW, Sharon operated her own breaking in and agistment farm, while also racing and breeding several horses. She previously completed a Certificate IV in Racehorse Training, further strengthening her expertise in horse management and development.
Her career highlights include serving as Syndication Manager at RISA (now Racing Australia) at Flemington, before establishing her own successful company, Independent Syndications. She is also the founder and director of ThoroughbredRacing.com.au, a platform dedicated to delivering thoroughbred racing news, as well as providing marketing and management services for trainers and syndicators.
In addition to her industry expertise, Sharon is a published author. She recently launched her book, “Unlocking Racehorse Ownership”, with a foreword written by Gai Waterhouse.
Her qualifications further reinforce her strong foundation in the industry, holding certifications in business management, marketing, finance, racehorse training, social media, and event management.
Carol Walsh, Director of Blueblood Thoroughbreds, expressed excitement about Sharon’s appointment, stating:
“Sharon’s expertise in syndication and marketing, along with her deep industry connections, will be invaluable as we continue to grow. She brings a wealth of experience and a fresh approach that aligns perfectly with Blueblood Thoroughbreds’ commitment to excellence.”
Blueblood Thoroughbreds has established itself as a leading syndication company, with over 41 stakes wins and placings. At the recent Adelaide Yearling Sale, Blueblood Thoroughbreds secured the top lot, purchasing a $350,000 Zoustar filly in conjunction with Ciaron Maher, further demonstrating the company’s commitment to sourcing elite racing talent.
“We are always striving to bring our owners the best possible opportunities in racing, and our recent success at the sales reflects that commitment,” added Walsh. Sharon’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Blueblood Thoroughbreds as we continue to expand our syndication offerings and enhance our presence in the thoroughbred racing industry.
