A dual Golden Slipper-winning trainer working from a boutique Royal Randwick base, with a racing pedigree forged in the famous Freedman brothers stable. A specialist with elite two-year-olds — exactly the trainer you want behind your next horse.
Michael Freedman is a dual Golden Slipper-winning trainer who runs a boutique, high-strike stable out of Royal Randwick, carrying a surname that has shaped Australian racing for decades.
His training life began in 1988 alongside brothers Lee, Anthony and Richard in the famous Freedman stable — an operation that prepared more than 100 Group 1 winners, five Melbourne Cups and four straight Golden Slippers. In 2008 Michael struck out on his own in Singapore, winning 468 races and twice taking out Horse of the Year with Super Easy, before a stint in Hong Kong and a return home to Sydney.
Now training in his own right at Randwick, Michael has landed the Golden Slipper twice — with Stay Inside in 2021 and Marhoona in 2025 — alongside Group 1 success with Forbidden Love. The stable's compact scale means every owner's horse gets genuine, hands-on attention.
Two Golden Slippers and a knack for getting elite juveniles to peak on the big day.
