Lindsey Smith is one of Australia's most accomplished and admired trainers, a Western Australian by trade who has prepared 11 Group 1 winners and more than 1,300 winners since saddling his first in 1993.
An apprentice jockey at 14, Smith learned his craft under horsemen including Tommy Hughes and Queensland mentor Henry Davis before setting up on his own. His partnership with WA owner Bob Peters delivered some of the state's best gallopers — among them Old Comrade, who famously beat the champion Northerly in the 2002 Group 1 Australian Cup at Flemington.
Smith's Group 1 honour roll includes dual top-level winner Scales Of Justice, multiple Group 1 winner Black Heart Bart, Tuvalu and Victoria Derby winner Plastered. After a long, successful run between Perth and a Warrnambool satellite, he relocated to Barwon Heads, sharing the state-of-the-art Geelong-region facilities of fellow trainer Danny O'Brien.

Yes — all BBT owners are invited to stable visits. Race-day hospitality is included for major meetings.
Training fees are charged monthly based on your share. We disclose all costs upfront in the prospectus before you commit.
Yearlings typically debut at 2 or 3. Lindsey is patient — we'd rather wait six weeks than rush a juvenile to its first start.
