Grunge delivered a commanding front‑running performance at Wyong today, making amends in emphatic fashion after narrowly missing out at his previous start. From the moment the gates opened, he was all business — bouncing straight to the lead, rolling into his rhythm, and immediately putting his rivals under pressure.
The gelding travelled beautifully throughout, stretching the field out as he controlled the tempo. By the time they swung for home, Grunge had opened up a five‑length break, travelling like a horse brimming with confidence and intent. It was the kind of mid‑race move that breaks hearts, and several of his opposition were already feeling the pinch.
In the straight, Tyler Schiller rated him perfectly. He kept the momentum rolling, kept the horse balanced, and kept asking for that little bit more when it mattered. Grunge responded exactly as a good on‑pace horse should — lifting late, refusing to let anyone get near him, and proving far too tough to reel in. He hit the line with purpose, scoring by just over a length and a half and stamping himself as a horse in genuine form.
Today’s victory also marks our third winner in just five days, a testament to the team’s hard work, momentum, and the horses thriving at the right time.
A strong win. A strong week. And Grunge is clearly heading the right way.
