Our boy Deprivation has been a revelation since we gave him a change of scenery sending him to Nathan Doyle at Newcastle. The move has completely rejuvenated the 6yo and bar from a narrow defeat against a smart one at Warwick Farm last start he should be 3 fro 3 in NSW.
His win at Canterbury today was made even more poignant being a race named after Graham McNeice who recently passed away.
Perfectly rated in front by gun apprentice, Ben Osmond, the son of No Nay Never was held back to them for as long as possible before the GO Button was pressed. At that point there was plenty in the tank and Deprivation clicked into another gear holding his rivals safely at bay.
The win, his 6th, takes his earnings to just shy of 1/4 of a $mil and his owners, many who were on track today would be on very good terms with themselves.
Nathan is a fantastic young trainer doing a great job.
