Farset made the perfect start to his Queensland campaign today, delivering an impressive first‑up victory at his debut run for Jack Bruce Racing.
The lightly raced gelding settled into a beautiful rhythm from the outset, travelling sweetly under a confident ride from Ben Thompson. Never looking uncomfortable, he tracked the speed with and appeared to have plenty in hand approaching the bend.
Once they straightened, Farset was simply too sharp for his rivals. Thompson pushed the button and the response was immediate — the gelding quickened smartly, put a clear margin on them, and maintained a strong gallop through the line to score by a length.
It was the kind of performance that suggests Farset has acclimised quickly to his new surroundings and may be ready to build a nice record in Queensland. A strong start, and an encouraging sign for the preparation ahead.
