There is something special about a horse who rises to the occasion when the stakes are at their highest, and Gold Medalist continues to perform adding another valuable slice of black type this campaign.
After a second placing in the Group 2 Rose of Kingston Stakes on Turball Stake Day last month, Gold Medallist grabbed third in the Group 3 Hong Kong Jockey Club Stakes on Melbourn Cup day.
The result further enhanced Gold Medalist’s record and reinforced her standing as a consistent performer on the bigger stage. To produce another black-type performance on Cup Day speaks volumes about her quality, and her value as a broadmare in retirement with every black type addition carrying significance.
On a day celebrated by champions, Gold Medalist added another chapter to her story.
