A multiple Group 1 winning trainer based at Warwick Farm, and the son of New Zealand Hall of Fame horseman Murray Baker. Known for a high-energy stable that gets the very best from sprinters and young horses — the kind of flair you want behind your next runner.
Bjorn Baker is a multiple Group 1 winning trainer at Warwick Farm, and the son of New Zealand training legend Murray Baker — a Hall of Fame horseman he learned the craft alongside in Cambridge.
After a decade as a pharmacist, Bjorn returned to the family trade, joining his father's stable before crossing the Tasman in 2011 to set up on his own in Sydney. An early Magic Millions 2YO Classic with Unencumbered announced him, and the wins have kept coming — the stable now operates from a 100-box base at Warwick Farm.
His Group 1 honour roll spans Music Magnate (Doomben 10,000), Samadoubt (Winx Stakes), Arapaho (Tancred Stakes), Ozzmosis (Coolmore Stud Stakes), Stefi Magnetica (Stradbroke Handicap) and the cult sprinter Overpass, twice a Winterbottom Stakes winner. It is a stable known for energy, communication and treating every horse as an individual.
