A Rosehill partnership built on three decades of Group 1 craft. Gerald Ryan's experience joined with Sterling Alexiou's energy — a stable that has produced champions like Trapeze Artist and Group 1 winner Ellsberg.
Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou train as a partnership from Rosehill Gardens, pairing one of Sydney's most experienced horsemen with a sharp younger talent who came up through the same stable.
Gerald Ryan has been a leading Australian trainer for close to three decades, winning at the highest level with horses like champion sprinter Trapeze Artist — winner of the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes, Golden Rose and All Aged Stakes — along with earlier stars such as Snitzel and Snitzerland.
Sterling Alexiou joined the stable in 2017 and rose from stable foreman to co-trainer when Ryan & Alexiou Racing was formed in 2020. The partnership landed its first Group 1 together with the tough stayer Ellsberg, giving owners a stable that blends proven results with hands-on, modern horsemanship.
