David Mourad comments (Racing Manager): Lot 176 HTBA Sale. A North Pacific Colt out of Comingle, a cracking looking colt this. Just have a look at him, he looks just like his sire. North Pacific was an outstanding Yearling, I remember seeing him in the flesh and he was a great racehorse and just an outstanding type. He is throwing those outstanding types from what I’m seeing from his progeny. Like I said, this boy looks like his sire, a beautiful colour to his coat, good size scope, great athletic horse and easy on the eye as mentioned. Good pedigree there, family of APPEARANCE and she was a really good race mare. Nathan Doyle going to train this horse. Nathan Doyle is doing a terrific job for us and plenty of winners he knows how to train he’s certainly on the way up. Love this horse and exceptional buying.

The Sire: NORTH PACIFIC

NORTH PACIFIC is by BRAZEN BEAU and was an exceptionally talented colt whose racing career was cut short after sustaining an injury. Such a natural talent, as a two-year-old NORTH PACIFIC was able to run 3rd to FARNAN on debut in the Group 2 Silver Slipper running sensational closing sectionals and marking himself as a potential star of the future.

Coming back as a 3YO, he put in one of the highest rated performances of any colt of the season by smashing a strong field in the Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes winning by over 5 lengths before putting in another huge performance in the Group 1 Golden Rose getting beaten by the shortest of margins by multiple Group 1 winner OLE KIRK.

Rated by outstanding judge John Hawkes as one of the best-looking yearlings he’s ever seen at a sale, NORTH PACIFIC had a huge engine to match his incredibly good looks. While his racing career was prematurely cut short, he was a horse with legitimate Group 1 form and talent. It was very encouraging to see leading form analyst Daniel O’Sullivan rank him at the top of the 3YO colts for the season based on his two peak performances.

“An $800,000 yearling. An outcross to Danehill, he was quite simply one of the best-looking yearlings I’ve ever seen at a sale.” – Champion trainer John Hawkes

“His two peak performances rank him at the top of the 3YO colts for this season. At his best, he had serious Group 1 talent.” – Form analyst Daniel O’Sullivan

“He oozes class, executes brilliantly and puts them away with ease.” – Jockey James McDonald

The Dam: COMINGLE
