A great showing by 3YO filly MUSSENPHERE (Exosphere x Mussenden) at Cranbourne last night where she won her maiden in just her 3rd start over 1400m. The result was great even though 1400m is still short of her distance and we believe that 2000m plus will be better suited.
The daughter of Exosphere was bought by BlueBlood in 2019 from the No 1 sale in the country, the INGLIS EASTER SALE, for $150,000. She is regarded, by the team at BlueBlood, as one of the nicest types they have bought in over 10 years and she sure did live up to that reputation last night.
Trained by BlueBlood Thoroughbreds’ main trainers Mick Price and Mick Kent Jnr and ridden by Zac Spain, the filly showed from the time the gates opened, she was a league above her rivals.
The Group 1 Oaks at Flemington this spring carnival, maybe just a bit too close for her with just over 3 weeks away. We expect her to be even better in the Autumn where her trainers will be working through her grades to maybe tackle the Australian Oaks in April next year.
